Jim Wallace – Founder/CEO

Jim attended Florida State University on a basketball scholarship and majored in English and History. After graduation he worked in sales for a construction equipment manufacturer in Los Angeles and New York City. Jim started his real estate career with Carolina Caribbean Corporation and managed their sales office in New Orleans and later in Atlanta.

After moving to Wilmington in 1976 he founded Intracoastal Realty. The company’s first office was in a small building on Wrightsville Beach with just Jim and one employee. Today the company has over 300 agents and 50 support staff and 8 offices. Jim is dedicated to providing the agents and staff of Intracoastal the highest quality training and support that is available. The company’s IT and Marketing Departments are on the cutting edge of innovation.  Jim’s mantra for the company is “Experience the Exceptional” and the company is committed to “whatever it takes” to offer world-class service to its clients and agents.

JoAnne Fox – Chief Operating Officer

JoAnne Fox moved to Wilmington in 1986 and began with Intracoastal In 1990. JoAnne received her NC Real Estate license in 1986, earned her Certified Relocation Professional designation in 1994 and her Certified Real Estate Brokerage Management designation in 2007. She currently serves as the Broker-in-Charge for the corporation and the Corporate Secretary.  As the Chief Operating Officer for Intracoastal Realty, JoAnne has helped establish an aligned professional organization that functions with a unity of purpose. She maintains a pulse on all facets of the organization with a strong focus on teamwork and collaboration, creating a climate where leaders think more about shared leadership instead of who is in charge. Under JoAnne’s leadership the organization has developed a highly integrated network of subsystems that work together to accomplish the overarching goal of providing the best support possible to the agents of Intracoastal.

Chris Livengood – Vice President of Sales / Broker-In-Charge, Lumina 1 office in Wilmington

Chris Livengood is a well-traveled native of North Carolina. Chris graduated from NC State University with a BS in Business and a minor in Economics before completing graduate work at Wake Forest University. Chris’ career in sales began with Hanes Hosiery Products, a division of Sara Lee Corporation, where he rose over a 14 year career to Director of Sales. That position took him to New York City. Upon returning to North Carolina and beginning a career in Real Estate, he was his firm’s Rookie of the Year and a consistent Top Producer before moving again into Sales Management. Chris was recruited by Intracoastal Realty in July of 2006 and moved to Wilmington at that time. Chris has held several Board positions with his local Association of REALTORS and enjoys the opportunity to give back to his profession. Chris’ fundamental management goal is to serve and support the efforts of the market’s number one Sales Team. There is nothing more exciting than successfully navigating the waters of a difficult market, one Client transaction at a time.

Lake Slacum – Vice President of Marketing

Lake is a native of the Eastern Shore of Maryland and is a graduate of East Carolina University.  After spending 11 years in Hilton Head Island working in operations and marketing for Marriott International and American Golf Corporation, Lake relocated to the Wilmington area in 2003. Lake’s passion for real estate marketing brought him to Intracoastal Realty, where he is responsible for the marketing and branding of the company’s general brokerage, new homes, and property management divisions. Perhaps the most important aspect of his job – and the one he finds most rewarding – is helping individual agents with their personal marketing needs. Lake and his marketing team offer services and structured support to help agents achieve their sales goals. The marketing department is a valuable resource for the agents, providing services and consultation for internet marketing, direct mail, social media, email marketing, branding, ad design, database management, and much more. With Lake and his staff, the agents’ needs are priority #1.

Samuel Ibrahim – Vice President of Technology

Sam started his career with Intracoastal Realty in 1999, where he is responsible for overseeing the technology services and technology education for Intracoastal Realty, with more than 350 agents and staff. In the technology field since 1984, Sam has a commanding understanding of the use of technology. His Technology career started in a large bank, and then he worked as a systems analyst for the federal government. He also owned and operated several small businesses. Sam’s mission is to make Intracoastal Realty the most technologically advanced Real Estate Company. Sam is a licensed broker and lives in Wilmington with his wife and 4 children.

Melisa Gallison – Broker-In-Charge, Wilmington - Lumina 2 office, and Director of New Homes

Melisa Gallison began her real estate career in Beverly Hills, CA before moving to North Carolina in 1996. Prior to being recruited by Intracoastal Realty to serve as Director of the New Homes Division, Melisa worked in sales and business development. Melisa is currently Broker in Charge and Sales Manager of the Wilmington Lumina II office as well as managing the New Homes division sales and marketing. She is also very active in the community, serving on numerous boards, assisting in fundraising for various non-profit groups and working with animal organizations. Melisa has been recognized numerous times as Sales Manager of the Year by the local Home Builders Association and has received community service recognition from the NC Association of Realtors, Wilmington Regional Association of Realtors, and the WCFHBA. Melisa is married to actor Joe Gallison and has founded The Karma Foundation to provide food for dogs and cats living with families in temporary economic crisis.

Cynthia Remahl – Broker-In-Charge, Carolina Beach office

Cynthia is the Managing Broker in Charge for Intracoastal Realty’s Carolina Beach office. Cynthia is a native of Washington, Pennsylvania, and a graduate of North Carolina State University. Cynthia is passionate about her role and the ability to help others succeed. With a background in Human Resources and Management Consulting, coaching and development of agents and staff is a natural fit. Cynthia enthusiastically embraces each new opportunity to provide exceptional experiences for agents and customers. Being with Intracoastal Realty gives Cynthia the ability to ensure agents have the optimal tools and resources available to provide exceptional experiences for their clients. Intracoastal agents are the most talented and experienced agents in our market. Cynthia’s primary mission is to help her agents grow and develop in their real estate careers and achieve optimal results as a business unit. In addition to her position in Real Estate, Cynthia is actively involved in the Community through leadership positions in the Pleasure Island Chamber of Commerce, serving on the Carolina Beach Marketing Advisory Committee, and participating in various community service endeavors. David Eggleston - Broker-In-Charge, Wrightsville Beach office

David is a Wilmington native who grew up in Roanoke, Va.  After graduating from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee with a BA in English, he went to work in a family owned wholesale sporting goods business in Wilmington.  David started his real estate career at Intracoastal in 1990 and has been Broker-In-Charge of the Wrightsville Beach office since 1996.

Sandy Ledbetter - Broker-In-Charge, Topsail Beach Office

Sandy is a native of North Carolina and the wonderful memories of spending summers on the beach as a child and young adult prompted her move from the Atlanta area in 1986 to Wrightsville Beach.  She quickly traded her Georgia real estate license for a North Carolina brokers license and continued her real estate career at the beach.  A real estate marketing and sales position in Topsail Beach in 1988 changed her home address to Topsail Island.  Her knowledge of the market, integrity, and personal service to her clients has kept her at the top of production levels in the Topsail Island market.  Sandy is in involved in her community and has served for several years on the board of the Topsail Island Association of REALTORS.

Phillip Galloway - Director of Professional Development

Phillip started his career in real estate in 1970 shortly after graduating from Wilmington College.  After spending four years in residential sales, Phillip spent two years in commercial real estate doing site selection for franchised restaurants and hotel chains as well as shopping center leasing.  Shortly after his commercial experience, Phillip owned and operated a major real estate franchise office in Wilmington for over twelve years.  With over twenty years as a real estate instructor, he serves as head of the Professional Development and Education Department for Intracoastal Realty where he teaches sales skills training, pre and post licensing classes, and continued education classes.
